BOP Dental Hygienist
Health Services at the BOP
Dental Hygienists provide routine and advanced prophylactic and therapeutic dental care to the inmate population. They are also responsible for planning and directing the preventative dental health program.

Licensure

You must be licensed to practice as a dental hygienist in a state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia.

Experience

To be considered for this position, you must have experience with:

  • Performing oral prophylactic care
  • Providing oral health education services to patients
  • Performing advanced oral prophylactic, therapeutic, and preventative procedures in cases of periodontal diseases or inflammation or on patients with other medical or dental problems
  • Placing temporary fillings
  • Finishing amalgam restorations
